She studied Business, Textiles and Merchandising at Kentucky State University.  After graduating in 1991, she proceeded to work with the Finance and Administration Cabinet, Commonwealth of Kentucky as a Procurement Agent in Frankfort, KY.  Her work experiences continued within the Commonwealth as a Purchasing Supervisor with the Cabinet of Health and Family Services and an Accounting/Grants Branch Manager with KY Dept. of Fish and Wildlife Resources.  She earned her Certified Public Manager (CPM) and Certified Public Procurement Buyer (CPPB) certifications while working with the Commonwealth. After 27 years of service, she decided to retire.

In 2004, Ms. Patterson returned to Georgetown, KY to reside after living in Frankfort,  KY.  With the encouragement of family and friends, she decided to join the Ed Davis Committee Inc., served as the Secretary. With her small construction knowledge,  she worked closely with the City of Georgetown and Parks & Recreation to get the Ed Davis Learning Center built. The learning center is a place that will offer many programs for the kids and adults to better their skills whether it be academics and/or recreational.  She used her free time to participate with the Committee’s basketball program and other events. Due to her sister’s death in 2007, she discontinued her position as Secretary to spend more time to raise her sister’s daughter and to have her daughter.  As the girls got older she joined Georgetown Scott County NAACP Local Chapter, served as their Secretary. Ms. Patterson has a passion with working with her community and is GRATEFUL to be a part of this BOLD organization.
